Elke Haege is an award winning landscape architect and consulting arborist who is an enthusiastic proponent to the development and sustainable connection to natural systems, especially soils. Developing her experience over the past 18 years Elke has been running her own practice since 2009.

Landscape Architecture

Named as an Emerging Voice in landscape architecture by the Australian Institute of Landscape Architects in 2016, Elke  is an award winning landscape architect. Her projects range from retail and multi residential projects to residential landscapes, parks, plazas, streetscapes, play and child care and other outdoor spaces.  Elke is a proponent of creative design with the natural systems, for sustainability, and functionally responsiveness to the project site and it’s context.

SERVICES INCLUDE – landscape architecture – Development Application plans and Construction Certificates, construction documentation, landscape planning, concept design, master plans, landscape reports, advice, graphic presentations, tender documents, presentation and community consultation, environmental, historic and cultural landscapes.



Elke’s landscape architecture and arboricultural experience includes varied projects with a range of scale and services including: arborist reports, arborist plans, tree impact assessments and statements, expert witness, tree and landscape character assessment, conservation management plans for trees.



Elke, together with soil scientist Simon Leake, SESL Australia have published (through CSIRO) a much needed and asked for text on soil specifications and minimum soil volumes in limited planting spaces.  The book is titled: “Soils for Landscape development: Selection, Specification and Validation” .

This book has won 2 awards since being published in 2014. One award was through the Australian Institute of Landscape Architects and the other through the Australian Institute of Horticulture.


Native Stingless Bees Sydney

Elke breeds,  sells and installs Native Stingless Bees in Sydney. These native bees pollinate flowers and provide interest and education to your garden, community garden, aged care centre, or home.  Elke keeps and installs bees as part of the connection and contribution to landscape, natural systems and biosecurity. The stingless bees are called Tetragonula carbonaria.
